Introduction to Spiritweb.us

Welcome to Spiritweb.us

Spiritweb.us  is in process of being birthed in March, 2006.  Many of you will remember the popular Spirit-Web.org which went off line in 2003. We missed it desperately like many of you.  It had so many wonderful features that we went back to it over and over again. There were people there we could speak with, subjects we could read about - all in one place.

There are many websites on various topics all over the internet, but nowhere can you go and find everything you need all in one place. There is a need for Spiritweb.us - a place for English speaking people to study all types of religions and spiritual topics.

I have personally studied many aspects of metaphysics, spirituality and religions since 1981 - and have other websites where I have posted my studies. Now I can bring them all to once place and share them with everyone else who wants to study these same topics.

Here are some of the sections of Spiritweb.us  you will find on this site to begin with. We can add others if you ask for them.:

Channeling

Channeling is a process of receiving messages either from your higher self, or from spirit guides or guardian angels, or even from God himself - i.e. Yahweh or Jehovah, archangels, angels, or just from beloved relatives who have passed on and want to communicate with you.  All are valid.  Sometimes you will know who these messengers are, sometimes you won't. We will feature channeled messages that other people have received, some names you will recognize, others are people who are less well-known, but who also have good messages to share.

Egypt

The Egypt - Egypt Connection is a favorite topic of ours and many other people. So many people feel a connection to past-lives in this era of history and to the pyramids and temples of the time, along with the Gods and personalities made famous at the time.  We have provided links to entire pages on each topic which you can explore, and each page has many links for which you can choose if you like to do more research on that topic. We will be providing increasing links in this section as time permits.

Lightwork

Lightwork is a term used by people who live their spirituality on a daily basis, rather than waiting until Saturday or Sunday and going to a church, synagogue, or mosque to celebrate and worship in dogmatic rituals the way their parents did through established formal religions. Lightworkers work and live their spirituality during a wide range of daily activities, which may be as simple as meditation alone in a room at home, or sharing spiritual information with others. Too, they may participate in other spiritual activities such as healing of various types, doing exercises of a spiritual nature such as Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Reiki, or others, either alone or with groups. There are many way Lightworkers share their spiritual consciousness, and that's a good thing!

UFOs, Alien-Cultures, ETs and Spirituality

In the Bible, people called these types of beings gods (elohims) or angels. The also talk about 'fallen' angels, Nephilim who were 'men of renown'. The Sumerians and Babylonians had 'giants' who came down from the sky. Today we know of beings who come from other planets, planes, realms or dimensions. They come in all kinds of shapes, sizes and behaviors. Most recent collections from researchers have numbers in the 200's of types of beings which they can describe and talk about. Many people also channel different types of these beings. They come from the Pleiades, Zeta-Reticuli, Sirius, Orion, Arcturus and Lyrae. The UFO-Phenomena and belief-concepts of these beings, are watching us and offering guidance. There are negative reports as well, but it will be some time before we get to the truth on this matter.

Dimensions and Altered States of Consciousness

The physical body is not who we really are. We all have a spirit body embodied in an outer shell of the physical body. Inside, we can communicate with the higher-self - our spirit body, and other dimensions and worlds, in other states of consciousness, through what we call dreams, astral traveling, out-of-body experiences (OBE or OOBE) or Soul-Traveling. Along with those  techniques, we can also connect with the other realms and dimensions through meditation of different kinds. This all prepares the individual for awareness and inner knowledge to become conscious of other planes with your conscious mind, remembering that you exist simultaneously and multi-dimensionally in all existences, and that it is only your attention that relates you to one or another reality or realm.

Reincarnation

Reincarnation is a religious and spiritual concept that perceives an evolution of the soul on the physical plane. From a higher point of view, it is said that we experience all lives simultaneously. It is only on the physical planet that we live life in a linear fashion.  From the spirit realms, we can see and experience all lives we have lived in any order we choose as there is no separation between them except through awareness. Only the physical body with its physical mind relates us to a defined linear space-time because our memory of past-lives is closed to us. There are some fortunate people who can and do remember some past-lives. Perhaps, with study, we can access them as well..

Yoga and Religion

Yoga comes from the Sanskrit verb yuj, to yoke or unite. The goal of yoga is to unite oneself with God; the practice of yoga is the path we take to accomplish this. Spiritual aspirants can be broadly classified into four psychological types: the predominantly emotional, the predominantly intellectual, the physically active, the meditative. There are four primary yogas designated to "fit" each psychological type. There are at least six different types of yoga practices, which we will discuss. Hatha Yoga, from where many realizations come show breathing pranayama. Very prominent in today's teachings the chakras are taught.

Veda & Dharma

Veda & Dharma, Veda consists of four types of literature: Samhita, Brahmana, Aranyaka, and Upanishad. Most important are the four Samhitas, which are the basic Vedas. The earliest is the Rig-Veda (rig=stanza of praise), a collection of 1,028 hymns. The Sama-Veda (saman=chant) consists of stanzas taken from the Rig-Veda meant to be sung to fixed melodies. The Yajur-Veda (yajus=sacrificial prayer), compiled a century or two later than the Rig-Veda, contains prose and verse formulas that were to be pronounced by the priest performing the manual part of the sacrifice. These three Vedas were recognized as canonical and called Trayi Vidya [the threefold knowledge]. The Atharva-Veda (atharvan=charm), written at a later period, was included in the canon only after a long struggle. Influenced by popular religion, it included spells and incantations for the practice of magic.

Dharma is often translated as "duty," "religion" or "religious duty" and yet its meaning is more profound, defying concise English translation. The word itself comes from the Sanskrit root "dhri," which means "to sustain." Another related meaning is "that which is integral to something." For example, the dharma of sugar is to be sweet and the dharma of fire to be hot. Therefore, a person's dharma consists of duties that sustain him, according to his innate characteristics. Such characteristics are both material and spiritual, generating two corresponding types of dharma:

(a) Sanatana-dharma – duties which take into account the person's spiritual (constitutional) identity as atman and are thus the same for everyone.

(b) Varnashrama-dharma – duties performed according to one's material (conditional) nature and specific to the individual at that particular time

Theosophy

Theosophy is religious philosophy or speculation about the nature of the soul based on mystical insight into the nature of God.   The system of beliefs and teachings of the Theosophical Society, founded in New York City in 1875, incorporating aspects of Buddhism and Brahmanism, especially the belief in reincarnation and spiritual evolution. Helena Blavatsky has prominently figured into this body of work.

Mysticism

Mysticism From myein, to initiate). Mysticism, according to its etymology, implies a relation to mystery. In philosophy, Mysticism is either a religious tendency and desire of the human soul towards an intimate union with the Divinity, or a system growing out of such a tendency and desire. As a philosophical system, Mysticism considers as the end of philosophy the direct union of the human soul with the Divinity through contemplation and love, and attempts to determine the processes and the means of realizing this end. This contemplation, according to Mysticism, is not based on a merely analogical knowledge of the Infinite, but as a direct and immediate intuition of the Infinite. According to its tendency, it may be either speculative or practical, as it limits itself to mere knowledge or traces duties for action and life; contemplative or affective, according as it emphasizes the part of intelligence or the part of the will; orthodox or heterodox, according as it agrees with or opposes the Catholic teaching. We shall give a brief historical sketch of Mysticism and its influence on philosophy, and present a criticism of it.

A mystery is a term which means mystos keeping silence or myen to be closed (i.e., the eyes or lips), something unspeakable. In the ancient past, much knowledge of a spiritual nature was collected by a master and given to his or her disciples. Most traditions of sharing mysteries were organized into groups with different levels of initiation (priest, priestess, etc). Not everyone is ready for a new mystery at the same time. One only needs to watch television and read newspapers and magazines to see where people's minds are focused.
